STATEMENT Visual Artist - Photography- Videos
I always feel something for the people I photograph, I choose them because of some kind of intrinsic connection or special attraction. In the moment of taking the photographs there is a dynamic relationship between various elements; what is there unconsciously; the intimate setting of each person, their room, their objects, their special way of mixing things together and placing them in the space, and even including the intervention of chance: what happens when I am with them, the unexpected things that can take place. I work with analog and I take many photographs trying to capture the ideal image, what for me is perfect (including, or thanks to its imperfections), all of this happens so quickly that sometimes I’m not able to see the elements that are joining together until later: when I finally discover the images… and myself in them.
Although usually I working with photography, recently I find myself at a crossroads between the still photo and the moving image, experimenting with simple video shots that are later I give a more complex form by presenting them in the form of installation or non-conventional context.
Siempre siento algo por la gente que fotografío, los elijo porque me sugieren algún tipo de conexión intrínseca o atracción especial. En el momento de realizar las fotografías se establece una relación dinámica entre varios elementos; lo que está ahí de manera inconsciente; el escenario íntimo de cada personaje, su habitáculo, sus objetos, su particular manera de barajarlos y disponerlos espacialmente e incluso la intervención del propio azar: lo que ocurre cuando estoy con ellos, las cosas inesperadas que puedan suceder. Trabajo en analógico, saco muchas fotografías intentando capturar la imagen ideal, la que para mí es perfecta (incluso, o gracias, a sus imperfecciones), todo esto sucede tan deprisa que en ocasiones no soy capaz de ver los elementos que se fusionan hasta más tarde: cuando finalmente descubro las imágenes... y me descubro a mí misma en ellas.
Aunque habitualmente trabajo con la fotografía, en la actualidad me encuentro entre la imagen fija y en movimiento. Experimento a través del vídeo realizando capturas muy sencillas que posteriormente le doy forma más compleja al presentarlos en modo de instalaciones y/o en contextos no convencionales.
